Shaker Series Parr Shaker type hydrogenators provide compact and easily operated systems for treating chemicals with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst at pressures up to 5 atmospheres (60 psig) and temperatures to 80 C. They are used primarily for synthesizing or modifying organic compounds by catalytic hydrogenation, reduction or condensation, but they are equally suitable for any other laboratory procedure in which a liquid and gas must be mixed vigorously, often in the presence of a solid catalyst, in a glass reactor at pressures up to 5 atm. Series 3910 Shaker Hydrogenation Apparatus utilize either a 250 mL or 500 mL non-reactant Borosilicate Glass vessel. Pressures up to 5 atmospheres (60 psig) are obtainable. Both are available with an explosion proof motor. The Model 3916 adds a means of heating the vessel, with control, up to 80 C. Series 3920 Shaker Hydrogenation Apparatus utilize either a 1 L or 2 L non-reactant vessel of Borosilicate Glass, hand-blown Borosilicate Glass, or Stainless Steel. Maximum working pressures vary according to the vessel with ranges from 30 – 65 psig obtainable. Both models are available with an explosion proof motor. The Model 3926 adds a means of heating the vessel, with control, up to 80 C.
