The AmpliMax Viral RNA kit employs superparamagnetic spherical particles that selectively bind viral RNA fragments, forming a particle-nucleic acid complex that is easily separated from the aqueous phase using a magnet. The magnetic bead-based system eliminates the need for laborious centrifugation steps & is suited to both manual & automated extraction protocols.
This product has been evaluated on Hamilton Nimbus, Kingfisher, LGC Oktopure, Perkin Elmer Chemagic 360 automated extraction systems. NB The current kit has been adjusted for the isolation of Viral RNA from flocked swabs & bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
