THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF pH MEASUREMENT ERROR IS TEMPERATURE. HERE’S HOW TO COMBAT THAT

Routine and reliable pH measurement is often a critical at an early step in a workflow, and the most common cause of error in this step is temperature. Thermo Fisher Scientific, which is locally supplied by Labotec, offers an extensive line of pH meters, pH electrodes, pH buffers, and accessories to make any complex measurement routine reliable. This range includes the new Orion Star meter range and Ross electrodes, that by design, will help to combat any temperature variation that could influence the pH reading.

How this works is the Orion electrodes have an automatic temperature compensation (ATC) probe triode electrode incorporated into the body.  Thermo Scientific pH meters calculate the electrode slope based on the measured temperature of the pH buffers. The meter will automatically adjust the pH buffer to the actual pH of the buffer at the measured temperature.

The Thermo Scientific Orion Star™ benchtop meter kits have customised applications that offer everything you need in one convenient package, and you can save up to a quarter for the full kit as opposed to buying each component separately.  So, whether you need to determine nitrate in drinking water, ammonia in wastewater, the conductivity of a solution, or the pH in food, each kit contains exactly what you need.

Orion application packages include the appropriate hand-held or benchtop Star Series meter, the necessary electrodes, solutions, and accessories to measure parameters in pH, ion concentration with ISE, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and temperature analysis.  To order, you simply select your parameter, and every component is matched to that analysis, and a comprehensive, pre-configured kit is supplied.
