ROSS PH ELECTRODE TURNS 40 THIS YEAR

ITS ORANGE COIL AND DOUBLE JUNCTION SET IT APART TO LAST

The iconic Thermo Scientific™ Orion™ ROSS™ pH electrode is celebrating 40 years. Known to deliver fast, stable, and accurate measurements, this electrode was built differently. The secret to its long life is housed in the distinctive orange coil, which is highly visible in the glass body version of the ROSS electrode.  The coil increases the diffusion path to the reference wire and by incorporating polymers in the inner fill solution, both contribute to a reference system that lasts longer.

The original ROSS pH electrode was the first of its kind to use a redox reference system, which provides a stable reading within seconds and increased accuracy by at least ten times compared to conventional electrodes. Since 1981, Thermo Scientific Orion ROSS Electrodes have been helping scientists across pharmaceutical, environmental, quality control, and academic labs achieve precise results in pH testing and measurements.

Since the Ross introduction 40 years ago, the range has expanded. Now one can choose from a wide variety of Thermo Scientific™ Orion™ ROSS™ Ultra™, Triode™, or Sure-Flow™ electrodes: glass or epoxy body, refillable or gel-filled, semi-micro or micro, and flat, bulb, or spear tips.

We think that’s something to celebrate and we hope you join us.
