Launched in October 2024, the OneBio Centre (OBIC) is a non-profit initiative backed by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), created to support early stage biotech startups in South Africa. By providing shared lab facilities, office space, and access to a vibrant network, OBIC helps reduce the high costs and risks typically faced by biotech ventures. Home to three startup teams and growing, OBIC has already hosted six community events and is actively building partnerships with academia, government, and global institutions to strengthen its impact.
