Thermo Scientific have built on the success of the original HistoStar launched in 2010, to produce the new HistoStar embedding system with improved functionality, operator comfort and enhanced workflow.
Offering new temperature control on the cold plate to prevent block cracking and frosting, the HistoStar also features increased insulation on the mould storage to eliminate mould sticking.
It has been designed with the optimum in simple user interface and power efficiency and also features one of the highest capacity wax chambers on the market – holding 5 litres to suit even the highest throughput laboratories.
Key features include:
- 5-litre wax chamber
- Temperature controlled cold plate (-12 to -3oC)
- High capacity basket, cassette and mould storage
- Built in paratrimmer with optimised profile
“We have listened to our customers and what they require in their laboratories”, comments Helen Johnstone, Commercial Product Manager at Thermo Scientific. “We have improved both the functionality and reliability of the HistoStar to address all of these requirements. The net result is a class leading embedding system, allowing our customers to focus on what truly matters – Positive Patient Outcomes”.
