The complete Labotec staff (branches Cape Town and Durban included) gathered at the Bullring pub and grill set in the gorgeous lush racehorse course in Randjespark Midrand to celebrate the company’s 60 year birthday party on 28 February 2020. From Marilyn Monroe classic dresses to hippy rock and rollers, the staff captured the throwback to years bygone and dressed for the occasion in the era the company started in. This was an opportunity for letting hair down and relaxing. To add to the race horse theme, there was the fabulous Flush Royale entertainment where everyone could play their bogus tokens in a Casino setting listening to the swanky groovy sounds of sixties music.
The day was combined with the annual Breakaway awards that tributes the star performers of the company. Annemerie Heystek won the grand Saleswoman of the year prize, and accolades were given to Sue McVicar, star Product Manager, Nico Julies for his tireless admin performance (weekends included), Deborah Shaw for Marketing creativity, and Morris for loads of energy and enthusiasm always. Then the Export Division, Portia and Gugu, won the Buchi overseas trip to Switzerland for their sales performance.
Accolades were also given to Louis van den Heever who celebrated two milestones, one his 60th birthday, and then a momentous 40 year Service Award at Labotec. He breaks the historic record for the longest running employee at the company.
