The first Particle Metrix ZetaView® system has been installed in South Africa. Particle Metrix is a global leader in nanoparticle characterization technologies for extracellular vesicles, viruses, nanomedicine, or materials science. As the official distributor for Southern Africa, we are excited to offer their cutting-edge solutions to researchers across the region.
“We are especially grateful for the outstanding support provided by Labotec during the first installation of the Particle Metrix ZetaView® system in South Africa,” said Rosa Jerlerud, International Sales Manager at Particle Metrix. “The installation took place at the Microscopy and Microanalysis Unit of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).”
During the setup, the ZetaView® system was used to measure extracellular vesicles (EVs) and nanometals. The department is currently engaged in research involving various types of bio-nanoparticles, including plant-based, human-derived, and bacteria-derived EVs. With the ZetaView® now in place, it is accessible to a wide range of researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students at UKZN.
This system is also available to users external to UKZN; please contact either Prof Carola Niesler (niesler@ukzn.ac.za) or Nelisha Murugan (mmu-pmb@ukza.ac.za) should you be interested in utilising the system for nanoparticle applications.
