This year, Labotec celebrated its 55 year anniversary. The company was established in 1960, as one of the first laboratory supply companies in South Africa, and has since supplied a diverse range of sectors with laboratory equipment and analytical instruments. In August this year, Labotec attended the LabAfrica bi annual show, an international event in Johannesburg, hosted at the Coca Cola Dome, which was attended by a high number of visitors. Following from the excellent atmosphere present during the show, LabAfrica was also very successful for Labotec, and we wish to thank all our visitors and guests on our stand for the pleasant time spent together and many interesting conversations.
To commemorate our 55 years in the scientific industry in southern Africa, and forming part of the celebrations, we had a very special guest on our stand; an oversized Smurf who put a smile on many of the delegates faces. They were invited to guess the weight of the Smurf, and the age of Labotec. Many ended up trying to pick him up, or hug him in an effort to try and gauge how heavy he was. Fifteen of the closest weight entry guesses in this competition each received a laptop backpack stuffed full of goodies. Congratulations to all our winners!
