| NY-BR-1 is a novel differentiation marker predominantly expressed in normal breast and breast cancer. The differentiation antigen NY-BR-1 is strongly expressed in the cytoplasm and occasional nuclear staining in the majority of breast cancer tumours. The Thermo Scientific brand, locally supported by Labotec, now includes a comprehensive panel for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of Breast Cancer. NY-BR-1 is a valuable marker to be integrated into your breast cancer panel.
The results can be reproduced in the following way. Staining of formalin-fixed tissue sections requires treating the tissue sections in boiling EDTA, pH 8.0 heating to 98ºC for 20 minutes using the Thermo Scientific PT Module, and then staining using Thermo’s UltraVision LP detection systems on the Thermo Scientific Autostainer 360.
The Lab Vision PT Module is designed to simultaneously perform Dewaxing and Epitope Recovery on slides prior to immunostaining. Slides are loaded into the Autostainer racks which fit directly into the PT Module. The unit has an integrated computer with touch screen for programming standardised pre-treatment programs. The user may also modify the time and temperature settings to further optimise the results.
UltraVision LP is the latest technology in polymeric labeling. Polymer detection methods have been shown to provide increased sensitivity and detection simplicity. This second-generation polymer system is composed of smaller polymer subunits that minimise conflicts in binding the target protein.
The Thermo Scientific Autostainer 360 is a new modular system that introduces ultimate flexibility and maximum productivity. Using high power computing, one system will run any combination of 4 modules simultaneously, with all four programs separately displayed. This feature allows for slide capacity from 36 slides up to 336 slides, using a single computer.
